Cameo Communications Launches Beta of PR Measurement Platform CoverageIQ

Dubai-based public relations agency Cameo Communications has launched the beta version of CoverageIQ, a platform designed to help companies measure the impact of earned media coverage. The platform is currently available on an invitation-only basis and analyzes published articles to provide data on metrics such as estimated readership, referral traffic, AI search citations, and lead generation.

The launch reflects growing demand from marketing teams for clearer measurement of communications activities. While paid advertising platforms typically provide detailed performance data, the impact of earned media has often been assessed using estimated metrics such as Advertising Value Equivalency (AVE) and PR Value, which are based on advertising rates and publication reach rather than actual engagement.

According to Cameo Communications founder Lara Geadah, the platform was developed to address client requests for greater visibility into the outcomes generated by media placements.

“PR has always been the hardest marketing channel to justify. Clients would ask us what their coverage was worth, and the honest answer was that nobody really knew. CoverageIQ changes that,” said Geadah. “For the first time, every press placement comes with a data card that shows exactly what it delivered, from AI citations to website visits to pipeline influence.”

CoverageIQ was developed following the agency’s shift to a pay-for-results model in 2025, under which clients are charged for secured media coverage rather than monthly retainers. The company said the change increased demand for more detailed reporting on the effectiveness of individual placements.

To use the platform, users enter the URL of a published article into the analysis engine. CoverageIQ then evaluates the coverage across several indicators, including estimated article readership, referral traffic to a company’s website, and whether the article is referenced by AI-powered search and answer platforms.

Where data is available, the platform can also connect outcomes such as demo requests and app downloads to specific media placements. Results are presented through a dashboard that allows users to compare publication performance and monitor coverage over time.

One of the platform’s key features is AI citation tracking. CoverageIQ monitors whether published articles are referenced by AI-powered search tools and answer engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. The platform reports which user queries triggered citations and how frequently an article has been referenced.

“Not every PR campaign is designed to drive sales, and not every media placement should be judged by revenue alone,” said Geadah. “PR plays a critical role in building awareness, credibility and trust. Our goal with CoverageIQ is to bring greater accountability to the industry by helping brands better understand the outcomes of their coverage.”

Following the beta phase, Cameo Communications plans to introduce a white-label version of CoverageIQ that agencies can offer under their own branding.
